2GB or 1GB upgrade

Hi,

I'm about to buy ram for my MBP. Is it better to have 2 1GB chips or a 1GB chip and a 2GB chip, maxing out the ram to 3gb?
Any input is appreciated. thanks.

when I upgraded my macbook almost a year ago, the two 2GB chips were the same as the two 2GB chips in link #2. crazy. K. thanks for the help. I'm ordering the 2gb chip from OWC now and in a month or so I'll get another 2GB chip for the full performance. I know it'll only recognize 3gb tho. something about pairs I hear.
