Hint: Ask for feedback before you order, not after.

OWC is a respected company and the RAM should be fine.

I haven't had any God experiences with them, though. 😛

i can always return it, if i got 30 replies saying it's no good

You should do fine with RAM from Other World. I've ordered memory from them for 3 different Macs and never had a problem. In fact, just updated a MacBook 2 weeks ago.

If it is bad RAM, you should know nearly instantly after installing it. If the RAM is going to fail it's going to fail within the first few days of use, perhaps even first few hours. Barring an electrical spike or some other such problem, "good" RAM shouldn't ever fail.

Sweet, thanks for the heads up. OWC is good stuff. I ordered one. I'll be able to bump by iMac to 3GB and therefore (by the law of family-tech-guy-hand-me-downs) get my wife's MacBook to 2GB.

This may be a dumb question, but will I really be noticing a big difference in my MBP between 2 gb and 3 gb, even though 2x1gb are in Dual Channel? What kind of a speed increase can I expect, where will I notice the biggest speed increase? Anyone with experience having 2gb and upgrading to 3gb? Thanks!

3GB of RAM is pretty much always better than 2GB, even though it's in dual-channel. 😉

Universal truths:
1. Death
2. Taxes
3. More RAM == better

Lots of deals on Ram right now, Fry's (outpost) has 2GB OCZ PC2-5300 sticks for 59.99 after rebate. 120(A/R) for 4 gigs in total and some shipping.
