So last Saturday the touch ID completely stopped working from anything that requires the use of touch ID, from unlocking the iPad or using apps that also requires it's use. But the home button works just fine as normal. I deleted finger touch id in settings but would not let me set it up again. But then Sunday morning I was able to set it up and use it just like before. Now today is Monday and it completely stopped working again but home button works just fine. I just have to keep typing in my password to unlock the iPad each time I pressed the home button. But before this happened, sometimes my iPad screen doesn't turn on sometimes when I pressed home button unless I pressed the power on button. Although that doesn't happen very often but it will do that. So called apple care and they said it might be hardware related and they set up an appointment for me. I told them I was using the latest iOS 11 public beta version but they said that shouldn't cause the touch ID to stop working. My appointment is this coming Sunday so I'll see what happens through out this week.

Sounds like a hardware issue, but you should rollback to iOS 10 as Genius Bar staff typically don’t assist when you’re running beta iOS versions (so I’ve heard).

Thank you Dave! Will try to roll it back to iOS 10 before my appointment.

FWIW I would roll back to iOS 10 before you go in. It may not be true now since Apple has public betas but prior to that Geniuses would not look at devices that had beta software since Apple did not technically support them yet.

Thank you! Will definitely roll back to 10 before my appointment.
