iPod 2nd gen Shuffle blinking orange, not seen by itunes or finder

This little iPod doesn't show up in Finder, Disk Utility or iTunes.

When it's plugged in, it blinks orange. When it's not plugged in, buttons/lights act normally, but won't play music right now.

Ideas?
