As I was perusing the App Store (as usual) I came across something interesting:

I found this particularly intriguing due to the fact that Apple doesn't let you just type whatever you want under "Requirements". If they did, someone would have added something other than 'iPod Touch' 'iPhone' or 'Requires 2.0/2.1 software update" in the past.

This leads me to believe that iTunes is finally going to recognize the 2G Touch as a separate (microphone compatible) device! What do you think?

I agree, it'd be plain stupid if they grouped it with the 1st generation as it's functionalities allow for a wider range of apps to be used with it.

well for starters what is the app? and what made you think about mic being recognized by the 2nd gen ipod? I think all app store stuff now states under requirements "2nd gen iPod Touch"
