I'm very interested in putting a 128gb SSD and 500GB dive in my new MBP. I assume MCE Tech will come out with a new option for this, heck maybe the old one will work.

Curious if anyone has any thought on this. Does the new SATA optical drive make this super easy? Does the old Optibay work on the new models?

Give it some time... they just need to change the interface from the ATA to SATA. After tha, the rest is the same as the form factor for the Optical drive is still the same.

eh? I thought the optical drive was SATA interface?

It is, however the SATA interface used in hard-drives and that used in optical drives ain't the same. They share the same data connector but the power connector is about half the length, maybe cause it doesn't have 12v rails? Also, the old or current MCE Opti-Bay HD cradle is ATA however and will not fit the newer UMB/UMBP's
