Got a Kernel Panic for the SECOND time this week! Getting extremely annoying! This MacBook Pro isn't even a year old.

When you look at the backtrace, it seems to be pointing to your Geforce cards. See here:

Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies):
    com.apple.GeForce(6.0.6)@0xc4b000->0xce3fff
    dependency: com.apple.NVDAResman(6.0.6)@0x998000
    dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONDRVSupport(2.0)@0x98a000
    dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6)@0x95b000
    dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(2.0)@0x96c000

Are you running any software to monitor the temperature of the Geforce cards on the system? When you are burning, which card is running...the 9400 or the 9600?

It is possible that when you are burning, you have the 9600 running and overheating the system causing a system crash.

I would take the system in to an Apple Store and show the log to the genius bar. Let them run some diags on it for you.

I have been having a graphics card issue with the lower-end model (I think the 9400?) and have been wanting to take it in and see if there's a problem. I was using the higher-end model (9600?) when the this happened. I didn't currently have anything monitoring the temp, but now do. What's considered 'too hot'?

btw thanks for the quick reply!!!

With no games running just looking at the desktop, you should be seeing somewhere between 35 and 42C. I've seen up to around 70C playing World of Warcraft or a title that pushes the card.

NP on the reply, we Mac guys stick together ;)

Right now I just saw the "GPU Diode" go up to 74 degrees celcius. the "GPU Heatsink" is at 62 and the "GPU" at 53.

My opinion is that is too high. It shouldn't really idol past 40-42. See what they tell you at the genius bar. Worst case, they say the hardware is fine and they can analyze the kernal panic.

That Kernel Panic could have something to do with Skype. Did both occur when using Skype? would help if you had the logs of both kernel panics.

And those temperature readings, are those with the 9400M or 9600M GT?

It could be very possible that Skype was open.

Taking it to the apple store

I'm taking my MacBook Pro to the Apple store this week. I've got some more issues come up that are getting overly annoying to wait 2 more weeks.
