I'm thinking you guys are being too tough on the guy. The computer has a dull power button;
a spot on the the speaker; and a trackpad that's off kilter. The price he payed was over $2500.
In my opinion, if something costs that much, it damn well better be perfect.

Well I would hate to see what happens you nit pickers spend $20,000+ on a car...

If it is used then I bought it AS-IS. If its new and I didn't cause any damage to it but it comes damaged, I'm gonna complain like anyone else.

Basically none of the track pads are flush on any MBP's. And honestly if your biggest worry is a power button that is "discolored" and a barely visible "speck" on the speaker. Consider yourself lucky and move on. You could of had a lot worse problems, If you feel lucky exchange it, but always remember the next one might be worse. I say enjoy it, after a little while you wont notice them anymore. Just my 2cts;)

If you go back and read his post, the issue is not the trackpad being flush with the palmrest; the issue is the trackpad being higher on one side than the other. I guess it takes someone with OCD to understand someone with OCD. :D

I was able to make my trackpad flush by removing the bottom and turning the trackpad screws very slightly

Another MBP problems streaming YouTube flash vids

I just got a base 13" MBP (2010 model) from MicroCenter last week and noticed problems streaming Flash content on YouTube. I can get the first 25% of the vid downloaded quickly and then it hangs and buffers.

I have Fios service and results from Speedtest & Speakeasy varies between 15mb/s to 25mb/s down / 15mb/s to 20mb/s up. I have PC laptop (Sony VAIO CW i3 w/ Nvidia 310m) that can stream the same video quickly and smoothly without having to buffer.

I've tried both hardwire and wireless connections. Both connections are an issue w/ my MBP. Browsing with Safari 5 and Chrome 6 Any suggestions other than re-installing flash?

This is the video that I've used to test and my MBP hiccups all the time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fcfi-ji8S7I

EDIT: Lags for both SD and HD content.

It's amazing how often you hear about people that get their stuff exchanged 4-5 times and are still unhappy. I have never, ever experienced anything like that. And neither has most people it seems. That would mean there are two conclusion; these few people are incredibly unlucky to get bad products every single time. Or the other conclusion, the problem isn't with the product, but with the person buying them.

If it is only with youtube you have the problem, try signing up for their HTML5 beta:

That might help. Flash sucks.

I'm going to have to agree with you. I just got mine yesterday and it came with a slight scratch near the D pad. I thought it was a smudge so i tried wiping it, but i ran over it with my nail and its a indent. Only reason why I'm not taking mine back is because I already installed a bunch of stuff and all my files on it.

Another issue, mine runs super hot when doing basic stuff like installing software, playing games etc. Besides the beautiful design, simple and amazing OS, it feels like I am using a windows laptop due to the heat and loading times (spinning beachballs everywhere). Like you, my internet is super slow which I might actually call about. To be honest you should just keep it if its only cosmetic flaws since on the long run you'll want a computer that performs correctly over small cosmetic stuff.

You guys realize internet has nothing to do with the hardware right? Considering we all have the same hardware and 99% of us arent complaining. Its either a site your viewing or some software you have...

Thanks for the tip. Will give this a try.

I agree that it's not the hardware which is why I've decided to hold on to it in hopes that it is only software related.

Its well known that MBPs have problems with flash.

huh? My i5 handles flash fine. No lag, no heating or anything. The latest updates works pretty well that I don't even use HTML5 atm for youtube.

I would be pretty annoyed if I opened my brand new $2000+ laptop and it had a speck on it. I would also be annoyed if there were any problem with the trackpad because if you ever had to take it in for service, a genius would say you dropped something on it.

Internet speeds, I wouldn't be so obsessive about, but any physical damage to the machine out the box would have to be taken care of. After reading these forums, when I got my 15" AG Hires i7 last week, I opened it up in the mall just to make sure there were no problems. It ruined my unboxing experience but I new I was good to go as I left the Michigan Apple store I was at.
