Do any websites take trade ins on old apple Tvs are should I just try to CL or Ebay?

Just sell it on CL they sell fast and price it for what you paid for it and you should be able to get the full amount of very very close to it if there are not a lot for sale.

the 2nd gen is actually worth some good money on eBay as it can be jailbroken.
I sold mine on eBay about a month and a half ago and was shocked by how much they go for. I bought mine refurbished for $69 so long ago I can't even remember. The final selling price on mine was $97. Mine was not jailbroken, but I mentioned in the title and description that it had been jailbroken in the past and could presumably be jailbroken again. But take a look on eBay at some of the recent sold listings both for an idea of how much they are going for as well as keywords to use.
