Now that would be an amazing TB external drive
Yeah I saw it as well.
They will probably cost over 1500USD just for the baseline 2TB.
It will cost a whole heck of a lot more than $1500. I'm basing that on this...
1TB = $2500
HAHAHA Holy crap!
I can buy a rMBP with this price! Even an iMac!
I knew it was going to be expensive but 2.5K for 1TB?
2TB would be near as 5K!
If Mosaid is able to lower the price down to under 1000, this would be hit product.
But then again, that wont be possible until couple more years.
And people complain about the cost of the iMac 768GB Samsung SSD.
It's way over the top... can't wait for a few years from now when all these SSD solutions will be as affordable as RAM today. I remember when a 1MB upgrade to my IBM 486 was a small fortune
Or get a 1TB SSD for under $600.
OWC is so out of touch, their solutions are getting more expensive lol
Good info. Hopefully this will drive the prices down.
We don't know what the pricing is going to be yet. If we go off the new competitive pricing guidelines that micron / crucial are using the price of the 2TB drives would come in at around $1200 - 1600. Now if folks are spending $1300 on 768GB SSD in the new iMac, I don't think the cost of this 2TB is going to be a show stopper. We'll just have to wait and see.
