This appears to be for the iPhone 3G S, not the previous models

iPhone2,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw

iPhone 1st Gen is: iPhone1,1
iPhone 3G is iPhone1,2
iPhone 3G S is (likely) iPhone 2,1

I wouldn't install this on any previous device just knowing how they are named.

this software version has been posted since this afternoon.. as mentioned 2,1 is the 3GS good luck loading it on a 3G that is 1,2

I downloaded it.. I have the folder with everything in it.. I wanna try it on a 2G and see what happens.. how would I update to this update?

you shouldn't have unzipped it. grab the zip archive. delete .zip from the name and it will turn into a ipsw file. Then option click update on your iPhone (in iTunes) and select the firmware bundle.

It won't work though... you'll just get and error.

Figured my old 2G would be better than trying my 3G

Anyone else try it yet??

LMAO! I spit out my drink and everything when I read this...

😱😛
To make me look even worse, someone posted links to the correct firmwares (dev copies) and I accidentally snagged the 2G version. I have an iPhone 3G. Needless to say by the time I realized this that post had been deleted. Now I don't care enough to try again. I'll just wait until it shows as an update.
