if you really can't wait for 3.0, try 3.0 firmware Gold master. I think that it is the same like official version you will get soon. it was the same when iphone 2.0 was out. now I am testing it for couple of hours. it's great. no lagging, faster. movie, TV show, music video, itunes U you can download all. entire installation including content take like hour or little more. once you would have done, it's faster next time when you sync. Oh, it doesn't need UUID activation. just download, install. that's all.
