I'm looking to order a new MacBook Pro and I'm wondering if the bump from 2.8GHz to 3.06GHz is worth it. Have there been any reports of decreased battery life or increased fan usage with the 3.06GHz, as opposed to the base 2.8GHz?

The extra bit of processor speed would be nice, but if it winds up dragging down the battery life, I won't bother.

i have it and i consider it well worth it, and i do a lot of rendering, etc when away from my mac pro.
For all the young students, etc. on here, no.
But for professionals, the 3.06 and SSD combination makes the fastest laptop you can buy.
