I have a first generation 15" MacBook Pro (1.83GHz) maxed out with 2 gigabytes of RAM, which is the official amount it supports.

However, I'm wondering is there any possibility of increasing the amount of RAM, e.g. to 4GB? Has anyone ever tried? Did the computer detect the additional RAM?

Thanks

Thank you, Scarlet Fever and OllyW.

Looks like a MacBook upgrade is in the cards for 2009 (or whenever Snow Leopard is out!)
