Also make sure the ram sticks are seated correctly into the ram slots.

Bad (or unseated) RAM. Even with good sticks they can be slightly misaligned, make sure everything in there is flush and happy.

And if it doesn't turn out to be bad RAM or badly seated RAM, then it's most likely the Logic Board (where the RAM plugs in). In that case, take it to Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
