the fakepieces dont have the extra uv layer or w/e is on the official so it's the same thickness as the black one. I don't have any problems with mine although it's slightly yellowish white and a little light leakage.

i'm guessing apple put a raised plastic gasket on the iphone for a reason. have you noticed any light bleeding with the conversion?

The one around the glass? I thought they all had that, my black one does. The black just hides all these little things.

If you take a white conversion into an Apple store, they'll know immediately upon looking at it because the proximity sensor is quite different between the conversions and the official model. They will not service a conversion.

Yeah I don't think they look at the prox sensor- a quick check of the serial number will reveal that it was originally a black iPhone.

Where is the conversion kit from white to black?

Why wouldn't you just buy a black one? I'm pretty sure stock of the black model are higher than the white model atm.

But yeah, as mentioned, some stores do sell a black conversion kit.

For the money you put into it I would have just sold the black, and bought a new white one.

:)

thanks guys.. was just being sarcastic..

The kit was around £99.

I then bought the white one using my o2 early upgrade. Some people may think that's crazy with a iPhone 5 around the corner (june-september) but it's not really.

1. O2 suck at upgrades with big launches. It's much easier to just go buy the phone from Apple.

2. I'll be able to sell my official white iPhone 4 for quite a bit of money, they're won't be too many of them around in comparison to people off loading black ones.

So it seems that eBay is now selling conversion kits that resemble the official iPhone 4 white with the black bar proximity sensor!

eBay item number: 370354486116

I couldn't get the URL cause I found it on my eBay app, sorry guys. :(
