this seems a bit low to me.

Currently using iphone 8.

What are the top apps using the battery? Have you tried any troubleshooting?

Top apps are Facebook and not much else. I didn't really leave the house today

Is that location arrow there most of the time? Have you tried checking on that and changing/disabling various apps and location services that you might not need? What about Bluetooth? Shouldn't be much of an issue, but in case you aren't actively using it, you can try disabling it to see if it makes a difference in your case.

I use Bluetooth with my watch. I haven't changed anything different from my old phone. All my apps are off wheb not in use and so jot sure why.

If location arrow is shown GPS is in use which uses a lot of energy.

Check settings>privacy >location services to deselect unwanted apps

Even with Facebook something doesn't seem right here. Facebook is one of my top used apps, often accounting for over 30% of my power usage, and I still get way better battery life out of my 8 Plus.

This is true. Could even be down to a dodgy backup.

I called apple support and they ran a diagnosis. I have dodgy hardware. Going to apple store tomorrow to get a new phone I'm guessing.

There you have it. Sometimes the obvious answer is the one often overlooked.

Might be a battery-related hardware issue.

That is not normal. Even with location on, bluetooth on, and facebook the phone should last longer. I have a friend with an 8+ and I have an X. He is always telling me how his battery last two full days and I can almost make two days. He leaves location on and bluetooth on. He is on facebook, instagram, etc way more than me. He loves the long battery life. We also live in a low cellular signal area which causes the phone to constantly search and still his battery lasts.

You can do all the energy saving steps - turn location and bluetooth off, remove Facebook etc, but in my opinion, you should not have to do any of that. That is a new phone - there is an issue with the battery. 3 hours is not acceptable and I would be contacting Apple.
