At least the newest one (a 6 month old 13" aluminum) is working OK. The two year old white Macbook just stopped operating for no reason again today. Gray screen. Tried to start with Snow Leopard discs. Nothing.

Same issue as when I took it in a while back:

Meanwhile, the 4 yr. old HP laptop that cost half the amount of the Macbook has never had a glitch or a repair. Just magical, Steve.

Okay, so you took it in... Why not take it in again?

If you don't know how to fix it yourself, then an Apple Genius will fix it for you...for free.

You go to this forum to blow off steam, instead of being productive by asking for help. You should be stating clearly what the problem is so we can help you and you can fix it yourself. If you're not interested in fixing it yourself then take it into the free repairman...it's the best you're going to get.

BTW try resetting the PRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

And according to you it's the same problem as before...yet last time it was getting to the blue screen...if it's stuck on the grey screen it's an entirely different issue.
