Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and am pretty new to the mac world as well. I've got a question. With my hp laptop, I was able to connect a projector as well as a 26" monitor for my presentations (projector for audience; monitor to be able to see my notes much better) by cloning the laptop and monitor and leaving the projector alone. I've tried to do the same thing with my macbook (I love Keynote waaaaaay more than powerpoint!)
It's not working right though. When I connect, I am seeing the keynote on the laptop and monitor in the edit mode (for lack of better term). In other words, the presentation view with the timer, the next slide, etc. is NOT SHOWING! It was very easy with the pc and I know the macbook has to be able to do it but I don't know how! Help!

Make sure that you're not mirroring your displays. The presenter's view in Keynote only works when the monitors are in an extended display mode. To do this, go into Displays in System Preferences and uncheck the option mirror displays. Then go back into Keynote, go to preferences under the Keynote heading, go to presenter display and make sure that you have the correct options checked for presenter display. It should all work out ok then.
