:confused:what was all that crap in the keynote where they said the battery would last 1000 cycles before it would start to get weaker.....

from the look of this post everyone loses 100% capacity after the few months....

The only post where the person's lost significant battery capacity was from a pre-unibody MBP.. There's also a post where they have almost full capacity after 200-some charge cycles. I don't see what you're getting at.

you might just have a faulty battery, bring it to a genius bar and have them run their "diagnostics".

Unplug it, use it until you're at 94% or less, and plug it back in. It'll charge to 100%.

It doesn't charge if you plug it in with 95% or more in order to save wear and tear on the battery.

Worked great- thank

however, I am still going to test to see how long my battery lasts- what is the best way to do this- It is a unibody MacBook Pro I bought 2 months ago- I just don't feel like I am getting enough battery life.

1000 Cycles and still manage to have 80% health left.

The built-in battery in the new 13-, 15-, and 17-inch MacBook Pro is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at up to 1000 full charge and discharge cycles.

Things like this are always not as good as they seem or as Apple say they are. Its business...:(

Thanks for all the responses!

Billsh*t I tell you! Billsh*t!

hahaha, nice catch. In my angry typing I somehow missed that. :)

3 month old mac? It says in your picture the mac is 9 months old- What gives???? Was it refurbished?

Between being built, shipped over seas, sent to a warehouse, and then to an Apple Store, I finally bought it 6 months later.

Yeah I think I might do that after work today. Maybe they will find something I can't see.

BTW - I checked all the current process in Activity Monitor and I'm only using 3.5% of the processor with 57 process total. None of them using over 2.5%.

Now that I'm at work I'm going to run it on battery power with the external keyboard and mouse, with the onboard display turned off, and see how much time on the battery I can get.

I'll keep you updated. :)

You know, there are things like the outdoors, girls(or guys), parties, and, um, life that can be a pretty good time.

I'm almost never at home except at nights on weekdays and I still managed to get a lot of cycles out of the battery. It's a laptop, might as well as use it like one to keep the battery running as much as possible

I think it's the flash plugin on your safari browser. it's using 9% when you took the picture. It may fluctuate higher.

After running adblock on both safari and firefox my battery life went up to 3.5 hours!!!

Not sure exactly what the culprit was but I'm happy with my new results.

Flash player is showing 9% cpu even though you're not using it. Who knows if that suddenly spikes without your knowledge.
