I think that has to do with the panels that are delivered to Apple. It's a LG/Philips panel if i am not mistaken and a lot of companies use these panels in their products. The older cinema displays have way less coating than the newer ones from what i've seen so far.

Boy, I remember the bad old days.

I remember getting a 20" NEC CRT thinking it was the best! 1600x1200 resolution and about 85 pounds on the desk, not mention the buzzing and interference you'd get from the thing, or that it would turn your eyes completely blood red after eight hours.

Times have changed... in 10 years...

Definitely time. :) But that still doesn't change the fact that this is the only display that seems to bother me. :D

My wife sometimes has trouble with the 30" because the resolution is so high she finds herself squinting to read text. She admits she needs glasses but is too lazy to go get her eyes checked.

Have you tried knocking the resolution down a notch?

u should only use the screen at its native resolution. Lower resolutoins will only results in an unsharp image.

Cinema Display radiation

There is something more besides the depth of focus. One can actually feel some kind of radiation on one's face. It's either UV or infra-red or something but it's real and it's a real problem.

well, the thing emits a lot of heat and has a large surface. But i know what you mean. My face gets nice and warm....

Anyway, I've returned the display and got a refund from the seller. Screw Machouses, find the perfect seller who DOES give service. The machouses here in amsterdam suck royale with cheese. Very arrogant attitude towards their customers and expensive.
