iPhone X 30 minutes in, and still available for launch day, wow.

I reckon the 512gb MAX is slipping because stock of that model will be very small. They won't be expecting many people to shell out £1500 on a phone. The rest of them on the other hand are a little surprising. I would love to say that apple would take note if their sales drop but they would probably put their prices up to compensate.

The thing that really grates is that they genuinely believe that they have an iPhone for everyone. Selling a 2 year old phone for like 70% of its launch price is a piss take.

I think this does however show that phones really have currently reached a point where a 2 year old device is still very capable in every way. When the 7 was launched the 6 was already showing its age. Now the XS has been launched my 7+ is still a very very fast phone that pretty much never has any slowdown or moments that make me think "a new phone would be much better". I just want the XS for the form factor and because I am a tech nerd.

Samsung charges about the same as Apple. We need a new player in this game.

I love Apple and their products. Pricing is high but somewhere it justifies.

That said, I really hope for a new player to come in. Someone like Apple who can really compete with the state of art technology and materials used for the smartphone. Unlikely I doubt Microsoft can really do that but I agree, there should be a healthy competition which is good for the consumers too.

Some competition would be good. I wish Microsoft had made better choices, they could have very well been up there with iOS and Android. Possibly a good choice in terms of privacy as well. I'm not saying MS would have been much better than Google, but the complete train wreck of privacy that Google is running is crazy. I'm ok with paying Apple's prices because they seem like they care about privacy.

At this point I can't see anyone else being able to compete unless Microsoft went in full force, and even then it would be a very tough battle. Even Samsung with Tizen is afraid of trying to make a go of it. I don't think anyone else is big enough.

I'm still seeing many models as available on 9/21, 2 1/2 hours after preorders opened. Seems like the xr will be the phone that will be sold out, it's a better deal than the one us suckers purchased. But I really needed the larger screen of the max. The regular xs seems like a bit of a waste, I'm curious to see how the sales numbers will be. My guess is the xr will be the big seller, probably at least half of sales, with the max following and the xs the smallest seller.

Yeah even now, its only slipped to Oct 12th, Other years within 5 minutes you were slipping back weeks and by now it would be a month + delay.

All 3 colors of the regular XS is still September 21st delivery, Wow this is totally not the demand I expected, Apple will still say its the biggest pre order ever lol

You know there are tons of ****** Chinese phones if you want something cheap? Tons of them.

And you don’t want to buy iPhone XS Max 512GB. You can buy the iPhone 7 or iPhone 8 for much less. Those two models are better than anything than ever run Windows Mobile.

No I can’t. Apple took away the 24 months 0% financing on the 7/8 models. I can’t afford $700 out of pocket.
 
Guys, I have the opportunity to pre-order in-store pickup of an XS Max Gold, both are available in 256 and 512 for pickup on 9/21. There must've been some people that cancelled their order. It was SOLD OUT prior to my going online to Apple Store tonight. I just can't decide which storage? Ugh.... I need to make a decision NOW! I may just go ahead and order the 256GB. Ordering it now....

So, did you order the 256GB? If you didn't know which to get, then that means 512 wasn't an absolute must for you, and 256 makes more sense.

You only get 512 GB when you can actually picture of all the cr*p that you can put on your iPhone, that you don't need. So, I got 512...
