I have old cars with factory radios with USA-SPEC iPod adapter. it uses a special DIN to 30 pin connector. When iPhone moved to lightning, the 30 pin to lightning adapter worked fine. Now that phone 15 has a USB-C, I bought the lightning to USB-C adapter from Apple that says it works with charging and audio. Unfortunately, it does not work for this case. The iPhone reports Accessory Not Supported and the radio doesn't see the device.
