Anyone else wish that the amazing Retina Display technology debuted on the iPhone 4 makes its way into the long awaited refresh of the 30" Apple Cinema display?

I know that it might not be technically feasible, and if it is, it's probably going to cost the moon, but wouldn't you just love to know that such a thing existed? It's just such a shame that the gorgeous pixel dense display on the iPhone is so tiny.

I would LOVE to see something like that. However, not only would it be prohibitively expensive to produce, but it would also be unfeasible to use - everything on the screen would be too small to use!

Not until Apple finally comes around and delivers a resolution independent UI in OSX would we ever be able to make good use of such a high DPI display.

Retina display: at 10-12" away on a 300 PPI screen the individual pixels will be invisible.

Therefore at 24", the PPI required to reach this 'retina' requirement would be about 150 PPI. So just a little higher than the 17" MBP PPI.
