30inch ACD low quality color

Today I noticed that my apple 30 inch cinema display is struggling with color, it looks almost like 1000 color even though it says millions. Anyone else notice this?

The 30" ACD is 5 years old. 5 years ago it was top of the line but today even $700 monitors have a better picture.

Crap. I have a new 30" display and it is still fantastic, and superior to a lot of screens out there.

OP, if it looks like your screen has changed, get it looked at.

isolate the problem.
plug the display into another mac. if it's the same, it's the display. if it isn't, it's the video card.

Actually the panel was updated in 2006, if memory serves.

This is absolutely not true. What do you consider a better picture? If you mean better color accuracy, then you're wrong.
