So how about this move, which I'm sure you guys don't like but hey, I don't want to pay the apple tax:
1) If you are under someone else's family share plan (I am the $9.99 line w/iPhone 3G), you can start a whole new plan $39.99 + $30 iPhone 3Gs data.
2) After 31 days, call in cancel the iPhone 3GS new line individual plan.
3) Pay the $175 + $70 (individual plan plus tax and misc) + $299 (32GB iPhone 3GS) = ~$559 (which is still CHEAPER) than...
4) Buy the no-contract 32GB iPhone 3GS @$699 + tax.
Will this work? I would consider doing this since I have more than one year and some odd months left on my 2 year family deal. The line in our family share plan eligible to upgrade is 12/12/09. I'm somehow showing up at 3/28/10! Even though I bought the phone and signed up the exact same time as the 12/12/09 line!
