I completed my order for the 2.4ghz 15" MBP this morning at 5:44am Pacific Time. My (free) iPod Nano shipped this afternoon, but nothing on my MBP just yet...what about you guys?

</wiityped> :p

Hi, I have purchased many Apple Laptops before. I know for a fact that, your MacBook Pro will ship from China. China is 11:12AM as of right now (correct if I am wrong), so I would wait to check the status of your order tomorrow morning.

As for your iPod Nano, it was probably shipped from California..

Hope this helps...

BTW I have also purchased the SR MacBook Pro and no updates on the order yet, will check it tomorrow morning...

Sweet! Thanks for the help, guys. My Nano actually shipped from PA...it is expected to arrive on Thursday.

I got the 2-day shipping option, so I am hoping my MBP ships tomorrow so I will have it by the weekend...

Thanks again for the kind words and your help. This is my first Mac, and I'm very pleased with the friendly community! Thanks again!

I can't wait too! My iPod also shipped today.

It's a deal for college students. I'm not sure if the deal is going to be offered in he UK...

My MBP still han't shipped...I guess that means I wont get it until Monday...what a bummer!

i ordered mine last night, just about to check the order progress i doubt it will have gotten far.

how accurate are the order confimations in their estiamtes of dispatch and delivery time?

i can believe shipping date is this friday, thats 3 days from the order, like it said on the site.

but the delivery date is almost 2 weeks from that date.

Mine has not shipped either, but I did get a shipping confirmation on the nano @ 11:19 EDT PM last night. I ordered my new MBP around 9 am on 6/5 with no customizations.

How long will my order take?

Estimated dispatch date: 08 Jun, 2007.

Estimated Delivery: 14 Jun, 2007 - 15 Jun, 2007.

Taking bloody long enough for a stock configuration.
If iLife is updated and released on the 11th I ain't going to be pleased.
Saying that I have a funny feeling it'll be somewhat faster than this Sawtooth with Sonnet 1ghz upgrade!!:D

The free Nano offer is for people who qualify for the Educational Discount (i.e. Teachers, Profs, Students).

I ordered my Macbook Pro through the UK educational shop and there was no mention of a free ipod Nano. Think it must be a US only offer or perhaps they'll surprise me with one. Not holding out any hopes though.

Oh my spec -

17" with high res glossy screen
2GB
160GB 7200rpm drive

Should be here next week sometime.

Funny thing, I had exactly the same delivery dates on my order. Then had a brainwave, wandered over to my local Apple store a couple of hours ago and, sure enough, they had the 15" units in stock. Cancelled my on-line order in the store (once they'd brought the unit down so I knew they DID actually have one) and it's now sitting in its box by my desk waiting for 5:00 to get here...

Just for the record, this was the Apple store in Brent Cross and they had all of the 15" units in stock but no new 17" models.

I ordered the 15" with the 160GB 7200rpm HD and its estimated ship date is 4-6 weeks. For the 15" MBPs, at least, the upgrade to the 7200rpm HD is the reason for the delay. You must have a different HD in your 17".

Not yet, waiting for the stock 15" 2.2 model to ship. This morning payment was received, and they put it on dispatchment date of June 11 and delivery on June 15.

I was hoping to get mine before the weekend, but I guess that's not so plausible any longer. But I still hope this morning some Chinese guy wakes up, finds a SR MBP laying somewhere, and just decides, well, why not send it to that guy?

Here is my guess on the situation. I spent a good portion of yesterday trying to identify the 250GB/4200RPM drive that is being used in the 17" MBP. The only one that I could find was this one:

http://www.fujitsu.com/global/support/computing/storage/hdd/mhdd/mhx2250bt-mhx2300bt.html

Notice that it is a 12.5mm drive. Knowing this, I am assuming that the 17" version of the 160GB/7200RPM drive is also 12.5mm and is therefore more freely available than the 9.5mm version needed for the 15" MBP.

This is only a guess though.

can anyone comment on delivery times? whats the general time gap?

i honestly cant believe in todays world where you can hop on a plane and pretty much end up anywhere you wish within a day that its going to take nearly 2 weeks to ship a laptop, probably from china. (though why they dont have like a stock warehouse in the UK is anyones guess)

unless it really is being shipped of course...ie on a boat.

I was going to make a thread about this same thing! I hope it ships out today!
