they don't necessarily need to put one single 32GB SSD in an iPod touch, they could very easily use two 16GB SSDs. whether they do that or not is another question (probably not) but i imagine a 32GB touch will be available by october 2008 and hopefully sooner.

That is what Creative is doing and what sony is doing(granted sony is using with two 32gb to make it 64gb in their UX series). Maybe we can merge all of these threads into one super thread?

I was originally pretty dubious that we'd see a 32gb touch in the coming year, but seeing as Creative is already offering a 32gb Zen (cute little player, by the way) for a reasonable price I think odds are definitely increasing.

I would shell out inordinate amounts of money for a 32gb iPhone.

I would too, if friggin' Verizon would get w/ the program! Unfortunately, I have no idea how the VZ/Apple thing ever would/could pan out.

Verizon's pride/ego is as big as the hornrimmed glasses onding-dong.

Apple's is equally as large.

uphill battle, both ways!!! :(

i hope they go with t-mobile in us!!!!!!!! and also because i have t-mobile

I'm curious as to how nobody's managed to upgrade their Touch to 32gb...I mean, it doesn't look that hard to desolder the flash memory on there. Sure, it's small but with some patience and a steady hand, it looks like it could be done. Then all you have to do is find 16GB chips with the same power specs and solder them in. Flash over the firmware, and voila! 32GB ipod touch!

Of course next iPod touch revision gonna have at least 32gb. There are already mp3 players with built in 32gb flash memory on the market, like creative ZEN. I think next year we're gonna see iPod touch 32gb and iPod touch 64gb versions.

actually, apple originally took the iphone to verizon, but verizon would not carry it because apple wouldnt give them the rights to put Vcast on the iphone. =[ but yea if verizon would get with the program and realize that no one uses Vcast, then they would have been the service provider to get the iphone. man how i wish they carried it. i would deff buy one if it was verizon

Well, Verizon and LG do have the Voyager, which looks like a hybrid between the enV and the iphone, having the large screen on the outside and a qwerty keyboard on the inside...awesome. It works with Micro SD, which is now at about 8 gigs...same difference...

I still would love a 32gig itouch.

I got a gift certificate of sorts for an itouch. My family is letting me choose if I want the 16 gig now or want to wait for the 32 gig....tough choice if you ask me. Do I really want to wait for next xmas to get my present for this one???

Ya, I've been keeping an eye on VZ's new phones, but no joy. They just don't even come close to iPhone. (And MAaaaaan you can tell they're tryin')

Forget 32gb. That'll be a distant pipedream for now.

Get the 16gb and be happy!! One thing I realized is that even though movies eat up the most room.........the hardest part of movies is the 8 hours it takes to rip/decrypt/shrink 'em. And I don't need a whole library of movies on the ipt at any given time. It only takes a few minutes to swap out what I want, so 16gb actually turned out to be plenty for me!

And as I've reported since the dawn of mp3's.........there just ain't enough good music out there for me to fill up even 10gb of music, much less 32!!!!
