I’m considering getting a 32 inch 4K display. Probably a HP Z32 or the Dell U3219Q. What scaling mode is recommended when running it from a 2018 MacBook Pro. It seems pixel doubled (retina) would make things too large. Should I run it in 4K (native) mode? Any experience on how that would work with this size display?

I agree that pixel doubled might seem too large. I swapped between settings when using an even larger display.

Most will say that you lose visual clarity if you don’t pixel double but it’s honestly fine. It also depends on how close you’re sitting to the screen.

I’d recommend trying out the monitor within its return window and trying the different settings for your personal best configuration.

For reference, I have good eyesight, *knock on wood*, and the different settings look fine

I run a pair of 28" 4k displays at looks like 3008x1692. For me at my viewing distance this is good. 4k native for me on these screens is too small. Might be Ok on a 32", might not
