Hi all,

I was wondering if this is possible. The standard limit apple put on the 2012 Unibody MacBook Pro was 8GB of Ram obviously the real limit is 16GB. According to Intels website though the real limit on the processor is 32GB. Would it be possible say using Late 2015 iMac 16GB modules to put 32GB in a unibody? (Supposing it would under clock 1866 to 1600). All the memory specs are the same except the speed.

32GB could mean it can do it with 4x8GB RAM sticks, however the MBP only has 2 slots so you're limited to 16GB.

The 21.5" late 2012 iMac has two RAM slots and is limited to 16GB (2x8GB) whereas the 27" late 2012 iMac has four ram slots and can take up to 32GB (4x8GB).

You need a mid-2018 or newer Intel 15" or 16" MBP to have 32GB RAM. It's soldered on and a CTO option. The current 16" can have 64GB RAM as a CTO option.
