There's a third party app that takes care of the notification problem It puts phone calls, sms, e-mail in the status bar of the phone so you can see if you have new e-mails, calls or texts without unlocking. Very handy :)

It's Coming

I think the 32GB with 3G is coming in July as well. I had a discussion with a good friend the other day who is a big fan of Apple, but does not have an iPhone. He is VP of an asset management company, and said they had an analyst that was "way up Apple's ass" who confirmed that the upgraded model is coming this summer with 2.0. He said he was waiting on that model before buying.

Obviously I can't prove that it's true, but he's a pretty trustworthy source in my opinion.

+1 for free wifi (or more of it), sounds much better than loading up the iphone with yet another mechanism for more power consumption. Bigger HD + 3G components = less battery life. I'd rather they just keep up to wifi specs, and make sure as soon as a newer, more power-efficient cpu can be put in the phone throw it in there as soon as possible, much like how apple refreshes MB/pro's soon after intel product line refreshes. SSD would be sic too, but here's hoping:rolleyes:

Maybe flash prices are moving downward faster than we all think (a lot of laptops now come with flash memory instead of HD, economies of scale kicking in?). Personally I think we might see 32GB and 3G all around the same time. That time? November 2008.

I think Apple has gotten to the point where they dictate what flash memory prices will be. If they want to start selling 32GB chips en masse, they will get them cheap.

Lots of news articles recently forecasting that free WiFi is disappearing in favor of widespread wireless broadband (3G+). This is backed up by lots of 3G reviews where users said they didn't miss having WiFi. (Don't forget, there are far more widespread providers than ATT.)

WiFi doesn't help when you're on a train, in a car, etc. Airports don't even have free WiFi.

Someone is paying for the broadband backend for every WiFi hotspot, and people are getting tired of paying for others who pay nothing.

Municipal free wifi sponsored by cities is what's dying, not wifi hotspots run by businesses. If anything, those are on the increase, at least in my local worldview. Until laptops have built-in cellular access--EDGE, 3G, whatever--that gives them the same connectivity that mobile devices like the iPhone and other cell phones have, wifi isn't going anywhere. The lure of free wifi is what draws many people into some businesses, where they can sit and enjoy some food and/or drink and use the wifi.

So Let's see according to all the rumors, we have a 3G iPhone coming in June, a 32GB coming a month later in July. Apple's gonna be busy this summer.

<sarcasm>Can't forget the 64 GB one in November, too!</sarcasm>

Apple will release two revisions of the iPhone this year. Two! The 16 GB capacity bump, and a new hardware revision in November with 3G. Maybe. Or maybe not.

32gb would be great... I would be able to fit my music library of 20gb and some of my tv show episodes to watch on the train... would prove to be quite handy.. and maybe they will make iTunes WiFi Store simply iTunes Store so people can download over EDGE.. they will make more sales this way instead of waiting for people to get WiFi to download a song...

Say you out at a club and theres a track playing and you like it there and then... You find out its name and then you pin it then and there rather than waitin til you get Wifi connectivity and you might forget the songs name... and that way apple lose 79p.... not that its alot but i reckon they could increase music sales if it was enabled over 3G internet when it finally arrives to iPhone... and that shouldnt bogg down the networks internet connection....

:) :)

I will also wait for the 32gb update.... hope it will be released soon but I guess we have to wait till fall - or winter

of course a bigger one is coming out

Well.....what do you expect from Apple? I am very sure that a bigger Iphone will be out soon, probably next year and I am very sure that colors will start coming out soon too...probably next year.

I am sure that Macworld will be all out Macbooks and maybe an Itouch and Iphone update again, just like last year.

If you keep saying it will be out soon eventually you'll be right.

They are out of the "iTouch" in fact they never had any 'iTouch's", they do have iPod Touch's though.

I'm happy with my 16 too, if I had 32 I'd just put more useless stuff on it. I still have 7 gig left on my iPhone and 16 plus on my 32 gig Touch.
