I've heard rumors that it is going to have the icons at the bottom of the screen like on a full Mac computer. Right now, it's still just a rumor. We should know in about a month.

That would be a software update.. and as we saw from the 3.0 preview plus 3.0 beta (which I am currently running) this is not going to be the case anytime soon.

Excellent point. Thank you.

[my two main wishes are 1) more RAM and a faster processor 2) push notifications for email. It looks like push is already going to happen. So all I ask for is if Apple can add more RAM and a faster processor in the next iPhone]

(and maybe they could separate the phone firmware from the OS, so that even if the computer crashes, we can still make an emergency phone call )

Oh mah gawdz! Luuk wat aye fawnd on da internetzzzz! 64 YotaByte iPhone pic!

Sorry... I had to! That's surely a mockup done on Photoshop!

haha a "battery Cover"

yeah because thats how apple would do it

none of their ipod/iphone models ever had easy consumer access to a battery what would make them change that now?!

The last three characters of the serial number translate to an 8Gb MK1 iPhone.

Surely any databases would say it's an unknown device.

I hope it doesn't look like this as I fear it would slow things down immensely. Heck the dock even sticks on my Mac Pro every once in a while.

That completely hideous mockup's been floating around for months. I wish it'd go away. (the removable battery mock up, not the one of the OS)

If the "new" iPhone is going to look like anything, it will look like this.

Ahhh.
Way better.
Personally, I think there should be a limit to how thin the iPhone is. Sometimes, I pretend my 2nd ten iPod Touch is my iPhone and I try talking on it. Very uncomfortable.

I know they're mockups, but these are the best I've seen. For me, it's a toss-up between the subpar reception you'd get with an all-aluminum casing and having quick access to the battery. This, coming from someone who recently dropped their 2g in a puddle of melted snow, may she RIP.

More realistic:

If you did that, and if it's not too hard, mind knocking down the color to resemble a unibody aluminum shell instead of matte black? That's probably going to be a possibility (in lieu of white).

Yes... this is what I want. Even if it is not real aluminum, at least let there be an aluminum "look" iPhone. Get rid of that ugly bar of dove soap... ;)
