post processing in photoshop and Lightroom for still photography is the brunt of my work.

Is 16GB still more than enough for this or would I notice quicker RAW file transferring with 32GB?

I’m trying to justify a base model for resale value down the road.

RAW file transferring has more to do with the processor and not your memory... As a professional photographer I can tell you 16GB is enough. BUT I will be getting the 32GB option because in a couple years 16GB may not be enough, but 32GB will definitely be enough

I would check the current machine I was using and do whatever my job was and then check RAM usage.
Your usage and system will show you.

I'm rocking with 8GB with Lightroom, so yeah, I kind do think that 32GB is going to be over kill

I think for your needs 16gb is certainly enough. Give it a few years where the price to value ratio of 32gb is more reasonable.
