Mac Pro's rejoice?
Specs from Intel.com
Attached a table... text was too messed up.
EDIT: Here's a table with pricing (from the Register)...
Let There Be Pro.
Hopefully by the time we are getting up here in NA, we'll have some Apple related news.
interesting! AES encrypted! so basically, nobody can get access to anything! can anybody elaborate on this for me?
a 6-core consumer CPU! wooooooooow. i sure hope that this is offered in the imacs (kidding).
6-core, 12 threads. thats impressive! all for the low price of a lung
VR: it is tuesday, after all
Place your bets
Dual processor lineup, e5620 2.4 quad core standard with x5650 (2.66 hex core) and x5670 (2.93 hex core) as bto options.
Single processor lineup, 45nm w55xx(?) 2.8 standard with 45nm 3.2 quad core and w3680 hex core as bto options.
This is under the assumtion that the motherboard stays roughly the same.
Well, they all beat the absolute crap out of my 3 year old MBP *apologises to, then comforts said MBP*
There are instructions that make using AES faster. Data doesn't get encrypted going in and out of the CPU itself (although, I read somewhere that there was something like that, I thought it was vPro, but it's not, anyone know?).
BAHAHAHAHAHA. that is not nice at all!
if your MBP is bad, mine must be REALLY BAD
wanna save up for a new MP together? 12 core hexa
Well, at least you've got a sidekick i7 with your CD MBP.
Timeshare a new MP? As long as you're fine with paying half, leaving it at my place, and you SSH in to use your half time share.
Very nice read, but why don't they list Apple?
maybe apple dont want all the secrets about the new MP to be known yet?
hehe thats correct. im not complaining!
HA! SSH? pffft it will be a terminal server buddy! with black fibre connection to my house!
who knows. but i bet apple had a say on the release day
You're right. How could I forget our favorite paranoid company.
Or maybe this is what they get for not slapping Intel's logo on their machines
Ok, well here's hoping for tomorrow morning. Time to see the Mac Pro rise to the "next level"......
"Announcing Mac Pro with the Apple A4 chip"
LMAO now that would be a suprise
Heh, don't nobody read the roadmaps anymore? The announcement date for the Xeon 56xx and 36xx series have been known for ages already.
At least we get new, usable, processors for the Mac Pro.
Not Today though
IBM is selling servers with these CPU's. nothing from HP, Dell or Apple. My guess is that IBM paid Intel a lot of money to get a few weeks of priority shipments. It's the way things work a lot of times
Next Tuesday? Or a quiet bump?
Numerous hours later and... it looks like you were right
a price bump from 2300 euros to 2500 euros for a 'new' 2,66 quad with 1tb, newer gpu en 4 or 6 gig ram?
Yeah, 16 of them!
