I recently got a brand new macbook pro 15" and upon installing and playing Call Of Duty 4 I find myself getting terrible fps. I know the mac version isn't well optimized but it should still be playable? right? especially since I upgraded to the 15" over the 13" in hope of better gaming performance. COD4 recommends me a ridiculously low resolution and some pretty low graphics settings, but even using those result in poor performance. I honestly expected better than this.

How is your performance in the mac COD4? Could I have a faulty 330m?
Some other games (portal for instance) run pretty well but when I turn my character round quickly the image sometimes distorts a bit and there is horizontal lines of distortion if that makes sense.

what made you think it was going to be better? I have a 15" i7, theres almost no difference between the 13" and 15" i5 (15% performance boost maybe), in fact the 13" might better for gaming over the 15" i5 cause of the smaller screen. Besides that the 330m is a terrible graphics card for anything but medium to low graphics on maybe games that are a couple of years old, I only get decent frame rates on Left 4 Dead 2 on medium using bootcamp with Win7, that game came out forever ago.

OSX is terrible for gaming, it doesn't just work, in fact it works very poorly, if you want to go to extremes, buy a copy of win 7 and run your games under bootcamp, even though you will need some hacked drivers from laptop2go, if you aren't willing to do that, all you can do is make sure you have the updated drivers from apple, theres a slight graphics improvement from one of the updates.

330M aint great, it runs SC2 on medium and the only games i get decent FPS is LFD2 and CSS <- HAHAHA CSS which freaking came out agessss ago.

OSX is ratshit for gaming and I'm too broke to build a dual booting hackintosh to do some decent PC-gaming so I'll just switch to the PS3 until then xD

Gluck OP.
