When i watch .avi movies in quicktime the playback isnt 100% smooth but its just fine in VLC player. How can i fix this because i want to use front-row when connected to my plasma. Thanks

i just installed perian but same playback. the video is tv show 24 in avi.

A lot of times I try to play different video on Quicktime and get choppy playback. Can't tell you why. So the majority of vids I play are in VLC, it's playback is perfect.

is there anything else i can do? im trying to use front row with my plasma because i cant really control vlc with my apple remote.

is it just this movie?? are there other 24 videos that are exactly the same bitrate/size that play perfectly?? or is it the whole bunch?

Its the whole bunch. Over 30 videos.

tried without the plasma???
probably just the high bitrates. scale them down maybe?

Its the same on my mbp. the sound is fine but it seems like the frame per second is a little lower than it should be.

wat does CPU usage sit at while watching them??
user is around 30 and system is around 30 also.
can i record using a screenshot software then upload to youtube to show u guys?

yes please do that. 30% seems a bit high!!!.. uumm on the youtube vid make sure u have the info page in quicktime (hit :apple: + I) visible.

how can i make that video? what software do i need?

oh crap u dont have software?? hhmmm if u could get a "legal" copy of Snap Pro Z that would do it for you.

if not maybe just a screen shot??
