Does this make your (MBP) screen flicker (like crazy)?

I just noticed that this particular pattern makes my MacBook Pro's screen (LG) go crazy, and I have no idea why. What are your results? Open it up in full screen, with the images original size.

Yes, it does. Interesting result, though I'm not sure what exactly it means. Not too concerned since I don't plan at doing much work with that pattern. :p
 
Haha, that's kind of what I thought. That's actually my semi-transparent terminal laying on top of Operas error page. That's how I noticed it. :)

Did you open it in full screen, or at least look at it in its original size?

Yeah I downloaded it and opened it in Preview, actual size and zoomed in & out a few times - it just looks like a grey striped pattern but I didn't notice any flicker!

I've got the 2.4GHz 15" MBP with a Samsung display.

When I open it in Preview, it seems that it doesn't flicker all that much anymore when it's its original size. It still flickers if I zoom out once though. Weird! Do you have any other program to try it with? Your webbrowser should handle it just fine.

To see what company made your panel: System Preferences -> Displays -> Color -> Select the "Color LCD" profile and click "Open Profile" -> Scroll down to #13 ('mmod' etc.) and look in the "Model" text box, 9C67 means LG, 9C68 means Samsung.
 
I think that's just the display having trouble downscaling/adapting the color to its own low-bit panel but thats just me guessing.
 
When I look head on at it, it seems to flicker in my peripheral vision. Is that what you were talking about?
Because the peripheral flickering is, I think, your eyes reacting to the very faint lines, same thing that happens in some optical illusions.
I have a PB G4 1280 X 854 screen, looked at it at actual size.

Dragged it into Safari, it looks fine to me.

Opened it in Photoshop CS and the shade of grey looks different (maybe I haven't calibrated PS properly or something??) It still looks ok. When I view it in full screen mode and turn the brightness up and *really* stare at the screen I can maybe detect a very very slight 'wobbling' effect (only when I try to look for it) but I certainly wouldn't say it makes the screen flicker like crazy! As someone else said it's probably just an optical illusion.
 
I checked the image on my Dell 2007WFP screen, no flicker there. So this is definitely something with the MBP screen.

my model number is 9C60 and when i opened it up, nothing happened at all.
 
I have a 15" samsung display and it flickers sometimes... when I opened it in a new browser it didn't flicker until I clicked to make it full size. When I saved it to my computer and opened it in JustLooking (my image viewer instead of Preview) it didn't flicker until I zoomed in once, then it did, but if I clicked zoom in again it stopped. I wouldn't worry about the flicker, doesn't seem like a big issue if it only happens on certain views of a special screen.
 
At first, I couldn't see the flickering due to the brightness level my screen was at. However, when I turned it up to max, I could see the flicker. It was most heavily concentrated in the lower middle portion. I have an LG screen, so I guess it's not just isolated to the Samsungs.
 
It flickers on my iMac's screen.

If it doesn't flicker for you, try zooming in on it slightly.
 
when i first got my MBP, i had a flicker with my LG screen on dark grey patterns like that on websites..... for that matter white too, just showed up more in dark grey....

... anyways i forget which update fixed the problem, but i think it was the firmware one

anyways no more flicker
