I'm looking to purchase an Apple branded dual charger for my bedroom to charge my iPhone and future Apple Watch. I may also charge my 2020 M1 TB MacBook Pro but I don't need a faster charger for this. It would be mostly to maintain or charge if I happen to keep it in my room overnight.

On paper, it looks like both of these chargers are equal except for size. Are there any benefits to get one over the other? The compact looks good but I think the cables would have stress since I have a power strip on the floor and the cables would need to bend coming out. Maybe that's a non-issue?

Maybe I'll just wait until I get an Apple Watch later this year in case a new charger is out.

And yes, I know there are more powerful and cheaper chargers out there from other brands. I normally prefer Apple and Walmart has a discount on these if purchased online, bringing them closer in price to other brands.

Edit: Am tired, sorry. Tired enough to be writing about Macbooks and suggesting magnetic mobile chargers.. yes.. have ammended post 😁

There shouldn't be any difference on a practical level for you. Beyond that? Degree or two in electronics, but without seeing them open, i could not tell you; at all.
They adher to the same exact PD specs all good chargers do however, so don't feel restricted to Apple branded ones.

* the only original Apple charger i'd actually recommend is their wired 70W one. Made in Japan -all the others are made in China- and of very, but very good quality; as in internally. If money isn't your first priority, you could also go for that one; it will only give what the device asks it too, so you'd be 100% safe using it on everything, even watches.
** For cheaper/dubious quality chargers (and that's a much larger list than you might expect), i'm generally against dual outputs. You're asking for it, sooner or later.
