MP RAM Prices at Newegg

Would this be a good investment for a future Mac Pro? I don't think it would be...

I thought the same thing, but now I'm not so sure.

However, it may be a way to make some $$$ on Ebay if the future Mac Pros don't use it......:eek:
 
My order has already shipped. Looks like I got in under the wire. Going from 3GB to 5GB. Not sure why I need to, but it looked like a good deal. :D

Try again. I just put through an order for 2GB. $94.67 with shipping.

EDIT: I spoke too soon. I just got an e-mail saying that the item I ordered is "out-of-stock." It was worth a try.
 
Well, it let me order two, but I had filled in QTY 4 and it said the order was adjusted due to insufficient stock. Waiting on the MP update and if it isn't compatible I'm hoping I can sell it and at least get some of my $$ back ;)

My 4GB shipped earlier today. I'm eagerly awaiting it. Hopefully they didn't mess the listing up on newegg and this is the old mac pro crucial ram without the heatsink that was recalled. We'll see, but I think it should be fine. :D

well i have 1GB from apple, 1GB from datamem.com, and i just ordered 4GB from OWC. hope it works
 
Well, hat's off to those who got in under the wire. I wish you the best of luck with the memory. Keep in mind, though I think you have to pay return shipping, Newegg's RMA policy is about the best in the business.
 
RAM prices HAVE been dropping, though. I bought 2gb of used RAM (4x512) for my G5 for around $150 about a year ago. I just got 2gb more (2x1gb) for around $90...
 
I just ordered 4 gigs (1gigx4) from Newegg for $250 shipped which isn't too bad but slightly more than the previous deal.

Ya their 1gb Apple Mac Pro modules are only 60$. I just ordered 2gb for 120$ Shipped today :) Can't wait!
