So touch ID is nearly instant (100ms ?), great, but then after using instant touch ID to wake phone and enter the home screen, 3D touch is unresponsive. Suppose I do touch ID fast, and then 3D touch on camera for selfie, it doesn't work. You have to wait a bit (1000-2000ms).

Sure a second or two isn't the end of the world, but if Apple took extra pains to make touch ID instant, why delay 3D touch which is designed for ultra-fast tasks such as shortcuts, selfies, etc?

I think this is a major flaw because the 1-2 second delay is slow enough for me to actually skip 3D touch and open the app instead.

Not sure I have that issue. I unlock, icons fly on the screen and then I 3D Touch and boom, done.

I'm finding a delay as well. And 3d Touch on the lock screen in often unresponsive.

My gosh this is annoying, I'm also noticing that 3d touch is also unresponsive whenever you go from any app to home screen (no touch id), 3d touch won't register.

Ok I've noticed that it may be more obvious if one has "Reduce motion" which gives you quicker transitions rather than the default flying/zooming icons where you have to wait for the zooming effect to finish before interacting. But even with the default flying/zooming, the unresponsiveness is still there for a second or so.

I'm having trouble using 3D touch on the home screen. If I press and hold an icon, say Instagram, it gives me an X (uninstall app).

I changed my settings in accessibility to respond to lighter touch. It felt like I had to push too hard to get the right action.

What I'm having an issue with is being able to see what's on the screen when using 3D Touch. Watching the keynote with all of its wow on a large unobstructed screen, you kinda forget you have to touch and hold. My damn hand is in the way most of the time, so I can't read the peaked texts, emails, or see pictures. They kinda forgot you have to touch the screen to 3D Touch it... Or maybe I'm the only idiot that forgot this.

I don't know. I'm really not finding this feature as useful as they advertised.

The peak/pop functionality just isn't as convenient as I would think. It literally takes 1/2 a second to open the app and do the same thing you're doing with 3D Touch.
