Hi, In school when we are modelling designs for engineering or graphics, we use well to be honest, of the top of my head i can't remember the name of the program, but the problem was it was PC only therefore i can't practise at home because i have a Mac. Does anyone know any Free/Cheap applications for Mac that i could use to design the basics on. (Desks, game console, computer, phone)

    Cheers.

Try Google SketchUp. Easy to use, free (for non-pro version) and works on both Mac and PC.

Still no idea what you are using?

    Suggestions:
    Blender (Free)
    Cheetah (Cheap)

Also worth looking into the Mac beta for Rhino 3D It is free — just register — until official release.

i know Solidworks 3d Design is really good but it is pricey. i think it's $150 for newest one. But if you only need it for a while you can use trail.
