Why remove 3D Touch from all future iPhones when it’s such a good feature?

Does anyone else use it at least once every day to accurately reposition the cursor in a screen of text? I do!

I am going to miss this obviously undervalued feature.

Is it because everyone I know with iPhone 6s onwards doesn’t even know 3D Touch is there?

I just hope they make the replacement work better than the quasi equivalent they have on the Xr.

Pity!

Yeah pity. It seems to be somewhat true, many people don't know it's there. But then again, many people do not know that you can clear all tabs under safari by long pressing the double paper icon either.

But if it's true and not replaced with some equivalent, then I too will miss it. The problem is I nearly crack the screen on non-touch id phones.

It sometimes doesn't work for me, it could be from the screen protector, but I find it very useful. Definitely different than having to just long press. I like feeling the "touch".

I’m a big fan of 3D Touch. I feel like it’s not a feature you notice but use often enough to enjoy that it’s there. I hope they don’t remove it as I would be pretty :mad::mad:

Why do you think apple is going to remove 3D Touch?

It does rock, I use it everyday. But Apple wants to pass on the cost savings to its customers...;)
That might be truer than you know, LOL! :D

I say that because people bitched that the 6s/6s+ battery was smaller than the one in the 6/6+. That was because Apple needed room for the additional thickness of the screen because it included 3D Touch.

So, getting rid of 3D Touch would reduce the thickness of the screen…thus passing on savings to you the customer! ;)

We can only hope! lol

If I recall correctly though, the 6s's battery was smaller because of the inclusion of the taptic engine, while the additional thickness was for 3D Touch like you mentioned. Or I suppose it could have been a combination of both.

Then they should have made the phone 2mm thicker and got rid of the dumb camera bump

Totally agree. I waited for that bump to go away. It's only gotten worse and the iPhone 11 looks to be the worst yet on that score.

We (my wife and I) moved to Google Pixels last Monday. Got tired of waiting.

I use it often. The whole moving cursor thing is annoying and not super easy when trying to use it without 3D Touch. This gives me another reason to keep my iPhone X. Hopefully they continue to support it for existing devices.

Switched in January to a Note 9, currently on a OnePlus 7 Pro and loving it... Check it out if you love your pixels

Thanks for the tip!

Lets rather talk about heptic touch and how ****** it is when you need to move the Music slider on a lock screen to certain desired time. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE! It will always jump 20-30 seconds to the left or to the right!
3D touch at least dont give you that kinds of crap.

I do like it and use it a lot...but I imagine Apple is going this way to decrease the manufacturing cost of the phones.

It seems to be confirmed as being dropped on all future iPhones.
There’s an article on this on the front page of macrumours...

You mean the Barclays analyst that also claimed apple would release a HomePod mini?

That’s not much of a confirmation.
