It seems to annoy me more then become useful for anything. Not to mention I forget it exists 99% of the time, easier just to turn it off.

Who agrees?

I don’t agree. I use 3D Touch all the time. I find it to be that one shortcut that really is convenient to navigate to the application or task quicker. To me, this was the best feature that was introduced on the iPhone 6s. Moving the cursor on the keyboard is also really nice feature to have.

I use 3D touch a lot, I'd be unhappy if Apple removed this feature in the future, really useful to me at least.

I use it and I like it but I still think the implementation is pretty poor. It’s a UI version of a secret button which isn’t very user friendly.

HEY, why would I want to turn it off. Due to your post, I just found out about it. Research shows I've had it on the 6S, 7, 8 and my ole X, soon to be a XS (Friday).

WORKS GREAT. Thanks for pointing it out. Now if I can just remember my gestures on my new XS. Had a hard time with them on my X.

Will haptic touch be the same thing, functionally? ...instead hard pressing just pressing it longer?

It's just long press with fancy marketing. I hate it, mainly because I can never easily get the pressure right to differentiate between long press and 3d touch, especially if I'm moving. Even the peek function is kind of silly as 3/4 of the time my finger pressure just ends up opening the app, and it's not that much work to open the app and then just swipe it off. Apple started out strong with it, but I don't really see many apps or even Apple's apps using it very much.

I love 3D Touch, it's become such a natural process to me that I don't even realize it's there. That's how great it is. It would be sad to see Apple remove it. If they do, I hope there will be an alternative or something better to replace it with. I'm so dependent on it, makes using the phone so much better.

I use 3D Touch for basic stuff and I like it where it’s useful to me.

I think the disappointment is in the lack of uses. Not many apps use 3D Touch and why would they when iPads don’t have the feature and neither does iPhone 5S or 6/6+. The shortcuts from the Springboard are fun, but again, they could be more prevelant and useful if they could do more.

I believe Apple will move away from 3D Touch, but I don’t want them to. I want them to invest in that as much as they are AR. Haptic Touch doesn’t sound as exciting.
