So the best feature of 3D Touch (on iphone 6S+) for me is the possibility to "force touch" on the keyboard to turn it into a trackpad to move the text cursor.

Problem is, for me it is working half the time I try maximum - in any application.
I press hard and nothing happens (maybe the accent characters show up). If I try again most of the time it doesn't work, and I have to exit and come back (for example go back to list of messages and open again - a big wast of time).
Sometimes it works instantely.

Anyone having the same problem?
Restarting, reseting won't change anything

Thanks!

EDIT: same in 9.2

yea it's very hit or miss so I pretty much stopped using it, I just do it the old school way because I get furious when it doesn't work with 3D touch lol

I think it is just hard to not move your finger at all while going from touching the screen to pressing hard on it. I don't think the feature is activated if you move your finger while applying pressure but before the trackpad feature is enabled.

Touch a letter as if you were going to type it. Look for the popup of that letter. Press harder. Presto.

3D Touch doesn't actually read hard presses vs soft presses, it reads magnitude or force of the press. This means you have to touch the screen first and then press hard or light for best accuracy.

The taptic engine doesn't actually read hard presses vs soft presses, it reads magnitude or force of the press. This means you have to touch the screen first and then press hard or light for best accuracy.

Taptic engine doesnt read anything it basically just gives different physical feedback when the system tells it to.

I've also had this problem, but only since the 9.2 update. It seems that it works intermittently. It will work the first time I trigger it, then not on the second time until I adjust to another part of the text box. Then it will work again.

Did you try the trick written a bit further (wait that the cursor to start blinking again)?
Since I do that, I never had the problem once again :)
