Yupp Yupp!!
Too bad we don't have an app like the BBmessenger. Otherwise we could all exchange pins and throw down at a bar in the Arlington/DC area...
Yupp Yupp!!
I'm in Lorton to. South CountySS
I'm kinda surprised how many on this forum have turned out to be in just the NOVA area. It's really not even all that big.
As far as turning services off, as far as I know there's no good reason to have location on. Maps is the only app that uses it right (out of the native apps I mean)? There's no wifi here at work so no need for that. I like push but have seen that hourly fetch does me just fine.
I'm going today with edge only to see how it compares to having 3G on all day yesterday.
One thing I've noticed on this phone is how slow the typing is while in safari. It's not a lag so much as the keyboard just having trouble keeping up. This wasn't the case on my first gen. Anybody else?
Dude I get 5 bars and 3G on my fiancee's family's 60 acre farm in WV. How can you not expect even better in northern VA?![]()

San Diego: 1.3 Million people
Fairfax County: 1.0 Million people
Alexandria, Falls Church, Vienna, and Arlington: 0.4 million
Just for comparison.
I'm not saying San Diego's the biggest city or anything, but NOVA definately counts as "a city" when you're just looking at numbers.
The dead-spots are rare, but where they exist, they're very strange.
This spot, for example, is totally, 100% dead. There's nothing for the 1/4 mile each direction on that road from that spot. Everywhere else around there? Perfect!
I'm just outside the Beltway and verizon was aweful in my neighborhood, as well as other carriers. I've had the iPhone for 4 weeks and am extremely pleased with the coverage here. Was on a 3 hour conference call last night and never lost a signal. That would never have been the case with Verizon.
The interesting thing is at work, near Conn & K, I get varied signals and dropped calls all the time.....

Gainesville here. No 3G in my house (or directly outside)...I see 3G about a mile from the house, tho. 3G all day at work (in Ashburn).
My friends and I are always joking that NOVA would do better as it's own state. The difference between this area and down into central to southern VA is like night and day.
heyyy there!
watch it!
whats wrong with SOVA?
VA beach is the place to be!

I never noticed that.....though I don't tend to linger near that area....
Not big? NOVA has like 2.4 million people in the metro area (Not including DC and Maryland)!
Oh and I get fairly great coverage in all area's except one spot on Lawyers Rd. in Vienna
I was referring to the size of the area, not the population. I know it's highly populated. I'm on 495 South every day after work.
