I just had an update to Skype for iPhone last night that listed one of the changes as "tested on iPad" or something of nature. Doesn't go so far as saying "tested on 3g on iPad", but looks promising. I don't have my 3g iPad....obviously.

Skype announced a few weeks ago, that they would support the ipad on 3g with an app.
