Thank you for yet another link to yet another article saying the iPhone will get 3G. We know. Jobs said it would be later next year (2008). Anything beyond that is speculation.

Did Jobs actually say that the iPhone was getting 3G next year? I thought I heard him say that he believes that 3G chips will fit the iPhone's needs by later next year; not that the iPhone is definitively getting it next year.

you know, silly me, i posted this in haste and then watched the q&a part of the keynote. and yes, jobs comment was anything but difinitive. sorry.

if you'd watch the event, that comment jobs made was very vague. people are reading too much into it. he said very casually "you know, maybe sometime late next year." he in no way said it was definite. he just said he thinks 3G chips will be mature enough next year for an 8 hour talk time.
