3G iPhone frozen in bootscreen: help!

I cracked my iphone with pwnage and tried to restore it again now the 2.0.1 update is out. However, somehow it is got stucked in the process and I only see the pineapple logo on the black screen and no way of getting out of this. I tried going into recovery mode but it doesn't work. What can I do here?

I cannot even turn it off anymore the normal way, only by pressing the power and homebutton at the same time.

does DFU mode help at all? There are instructions on how to get to DFU mode on youtube if you dont know how.
