3G is always ram hungry..

So, I had to upgrade to 4.2.1 to have my carriers data and 3g settings work- Ever since, My phone is so memory hungry, And it goes down to 4MB and it just GRINDS..
I have no substrate addons, either, and have removed unessicary daemons.

Why is it so RAM Hungry?

a) iOS simply requires more RAM

b) Apple purposefully gimped iOS4 on the 3G to entice people to upgrade.
