3G is shipping on the 23

According to macmall the next wifi's and the 3g's are shipping out on the 23 and are to be received by them on the 24th.

Ofcourse I'm sure this is up for change but thought some might like that info.

Hope you're right as I'd like to get mine by the 23rd for a vacation that will begin on the 24th.

A previous statement from Apple made it clear that there wasn't going to be any in store pick ups for pre-orders after April 3.

where did you find this info, macmall's iPad page still says late april

I have trouble taking your word on this without any proof...
 
Called macmall. was told "We will have them on May 3rd", "Get in line". of course this means nothing in relation to an ACTUAL release date.
 
I could almost buy the 24th if they were happy with the results of the April 3rd Saturday launch, since the 24th is the last Saturday in April.

If this is true, should start to see orders changing to shipped around...Mon/Tuesday of next week?

(Those few days leading up to the first WiFi shipping seemed like forever when we were all going nuts over the UPS tracking, so I can't remember how long it actually was.)
 
How do you reserve one in store once they are available? I am passing through NY from UK on the 25th April

Are you suggesting that they won't be shipping them to Apple Retail stores also? That makes no sense. Yes, Apple let people reserve for the April 3rd launch, but that was for Wi-Fi models only, they didn't give you the option to reserve the 3G for retail pickup because there was no date announced. You can be pretty certain that the same day online orders are delivered will be the same day it will be available at the Apple retail stores.
